This week was Red Tractor week! A promotional week to give food shoppers a taste of what it is like to live close to where their food comes from.
What’s it all about?
Farmers from all over the UK have been talking to shoppers outside major supermarkets. Customers have been learning where their food comes from and what standards are used to produce them. This means that customers have the opportunity to understand more about their food and what the Red Tractor stands for. The Red Tractor ensures that food and drink is traceable, safe to eat and has good standards of animal welfare. The Red Tractor campaign took this opportunity to make this both the biggest promotional week and on-pack promotion to date. The logo appeared on a big range of products in major supermarkets, such as meat and poultry, fruit and vegetables.
How we got involved!
Here at B&B we took this opportunity to get involved with customers. Together with Trust the Tractor and NFU, we took one of our tractors over to ASDA at Spondon, Derby. It was a fantastic opportunity to point out to consumers where their food comes from. Giving people a chance to learn and understand more about farming and agriculture. A big thank you to all the lovely people we got to meet, and we hope that everyone enjoyed the week as much as we did! All images used with permission from Mark Averill @ Averill Photography
